Below is training footage of the number one ranked raw powerlifter in the world, Konstantin Konstantinovs (308). Konstantinovs has been recovering from a back injury suffered while squatting. As a result, in his last meet in October, he took a token squat.

holy cow. 2 inch box? looks like a full deadlift really - wondering why it's a box deadlift on that 932. doing a higher box to warm up? and winking at the camera, lol....

can't begin to say how freaky it is he can't really squat heavy but he can train conventional dl like that....wow.

i know some people have made it fashionable to drop the bar after doing their reps, then resetting and starting. if kk doesn't feel he's got to do that, why do they? he also appears to stand under the weight a bit...grip test...

every time i watch kk's videos, i feel somehow i'm "slacking" and I already know i don't...!

lol @ recovering

Putt Houston.... now with Ridiculous BCWW

Part of recovering is deadlifting 932. Everyone knows that.

And how ironic that he hurt his back while squatting, considering all the comments that have been made about his deadlift technique.

The man is a beast!

not human

He had always claimed in all of his previous interviews that the most injuries he's had have been through squatting.

I met him in Rostov, Russia at WPC Raw Worlds. Very open with information and a lot of fun to be with. He is the REAL-DEAL. My BLOG has a picture of him with the guy from Hungary that bench 660 in the 275 class RAW!

he looks like he's getting bigger. freak

WOW sweet dead,

We are most likely to get injured doing lifts we are not built to do.

Anonymous, he has a pretty darn good raw squat for not being built for it (as you say)...

yea, 727 raw at 275 is pretty damn good LOL

I know he is a raw lifter, but i'd like to see him put a suit on just to set the world record overall and try to beat 1008.

Of course he's not built for it. His body fat is below 30%.

Actually,it is 14%.

He has problems with gaining body weight, and 275 is his bigest so far.

Best deadlifter in the world IMO.

Agree. Very good squat. He has overcome poor squat leverages by playing to his strengths (using lots of back) and just being very strong. He is also not built to bench (very long arms), but has found a way to become a very good bencher. Being built for a lift does not necessarily mean you can't become good at it.

No way is he 14% bodyfat! I would say 6-7%. The guy is shredded!

I know in some of his training videos where he has his shirt off the guy looks to be in single digits for body fat. I read last month that he was up to 295, so unless he's on some new cycle or something I'd think some of that weight gain would be water and some would be fat. Especially if he can't train squats as he'd like, he might hold more fat just because he can't burn it normally. (I'm guessing on that, but I know squatting is one of the best fat burners there is.)

KK is so tough he grinds his coffee with his teeth and boils the water with his own rage…
KK is so tough he doesn’t throw up when he drinks too much. KK only throws down!
KK is so tough he ordered a Big Mac at Burger King and got one!
If you Google search “KK getting his ass kicked” you will generate zero results. It just doesn’t happen!

Heck yeah! With a bit of practice he could turn that into a 1125 monolift 1/2 squat and win himself some $$$ over here in the states!

Stay Strong,

Hahahahahahahaha! It's tough to judge depth from the front, side and back when you're "built to squat" so don't be a hater!

You forgot this one...KK is so strong, he can swallow a lump of coal and shit a diamond.

BEAST.

I think his squat can only be considered weak relative to his dead. Interesting point about the leverages. I'm by no means even close to being "strong" but like KK my deadlift has also always been years ahead of my squat and I end up using plenty of back. But still 727 at 275 with only light wraps and a belt is pretty heavy. There used to be a video of him squatting 700 for a triple with no wraps but I think he took it down. He seems to press decent weights with relative ease too using a much longer ROM than most.

Deload Week / Active Recovery doesn't go to the floor. Good idea. He thinks "outside of the box". No pun intended.

KK ... Truly a beast; truly a freak. Even The Great Salamander would approve him.

brake that 1008!!!!
