Battle of the 220 Class Deadlifters at WABDL Worlds

The battle for the 220 class deadlift title proved to be a tight one at the at the WABDL Bench Press and Deadlift World Championships which took place October 27-November 1 in Reno, Nevada. Five of the competitors pulled weights high enough to make the Powerlifting Watch Lifter Rankings. The top two finishers, Finns Petri Hietamaki and Tatu Avoli, each pulled 705 pounds, with Hietamaki winning on bodyweight. American Steve Lemarie placed third with a 689 pound pull. Mitch Edelstein deadlifted 667 pound for fourth. Matt Vinopal rounded out the group with a 655 pound effort.
