Josh Decker Presses WABDL Open WR

Josh Decker (181) bench pressed 551 pounds at the WABDL World Championships which started on Tuesday and wrap up today in Reno, Nevada. The press ups Decker's own open WABDL World Record from 546 pounds.

Trey Jewett holds the elite WABDL World Record at 573 pounds.

The bench press ranks Decker tenth on the Powerlifting Watch Lifter Rankings.

Good bench but can someone explain to me the difference between the open and the elite open and what the point of that is? Seems to me that Mr. Decker and Jewett are at the same level.

Elite Open Bench Press Men
This is the highest obtainable level in the WABDL. This is for the “Best of the Best”!

a. Any male lifter, who has lifted equal to or more than the following weight in any
and all sanctioned competitions including all other past and present Federations,
can only compete in the Elite Open division.

b. An Elite Open lifter is allowed to lift in all other divisions except the Open division.

c. These are the qualifying amounts listed first by weight class and second by
amount

123 – 363.7#
132 – 407.7#
148 – 457.2#
165 – 529#,
181 – 562#
198 –664.5#
220 – 705.2#
242 – 727.5#
259 – 744#
