Cheryl Anderson (105) deadlifted 342 pounds on Thursday at the WABDL World Championships in Reno, Nevada. The deadlift is the top pull on the Lifter Rankings as well as the open WABDL World Record. Anderson had set the previous World Record of 341 pounds in August.

Cheryl,
Well earned=
Congratulations!

Always inspirational!
I wish I could have witnessed it first hand!
Your 314 was too fast and I saw it better in super slow motion. Speed training?
342 was just awesome.
I am super impressed as always and really happy to see this video demonstration and definition of powerlifting. Hats off again, again!

Amazing!

Great Job Cheryl! Can't wait to see you go head to head against April Shumaker at the American Cup/LA Fit Expo on Jan 23. That's going to be a great show!

Dr. Tom...thank you always!! That was an awesome time, and it was great being able to have dinner with you and catch up! (nevermind how impressed we still are with how you took things in stride in the hotel lobby with all the Halloween hoopla around us, lol :) You know I am going to practice telling stories Gus-style at 2 a.m. while high-fiving folks walking by, without missing a beat :) You didn't see what went on the next day though, with all the costumes... lol...

I have never opened with 314, so I must have over-compensated... you should put just a little more weight on your opener as well :) It is always an honor to be at the same meet as you, learn and watch any amount you pull, look like 135...

Thank you always for your encouragement and motivation!! We hope to see you again soon.

Thanks always, Steve -- I am looking forward to FINALLY lifting at one of your meets after all these years, and seeing some action out there in LA with April! Your encouragement and help along the way has been more than appreciated. See you again in a few months!!

Your Amazing Cheryl.Nothing better to watch then seeing someone pull huge weight with heart,Your a beast......

Thank you very much, Charles! I appreciate that...Now, is this the guy from Montana that kept saying things about me (or to me) everytime I walked by? (i.e. "Hey, wonder if she could deadlift these beers once?" or "Ooh, she's walkin' kinda funny today" and suggested Alleve a couple times?) LOL

I just wanted to say thanks again to Gus Rethwisch for having Mitch and me at the WABDL World's in Reno again -- after 5 years, it was exciting to be back, and Mitch had an awesome first time at this great gathering of lifters. We saw many familiar lifters -- old friends and unexpected faces -- and it was a lot of fun that we were all together there for this huge event. (One of the highlights was meeting WABDL secretary Elma in person finally!! Nice to put a face to a name :)

Thanks so much also to Alan P. Thomas of APT Pro Gear, Pete Alaniz of Titan Support Systems, Sherman Ledford of Quest Nutrition, Dr. Paul Thompson of Thompson Chiropractic (Little Canada, MN) and Dan Stock of The Press Gym for their generous support of my endeavors in powerlifting this year. I am very grateful.

Thanks very much to Mitch for his coaching and support, and to Dennis and Rebekah Schmidt for all their help as well!! Rebekah really gave it all to rock the house, and there were a number of especially the Open female deadlifters that got the tempo going, making some noise and helped keep us all stoked. 93 lb. Elizabeth Cabe with a 281 lb. pull and the other 105 lber Patricia Loera-Lewis are two I need to watch out for in the future. Very awesome lifting, beautiful venue, a dedicated, upbeat, energetic, tireless crew running this meet, supportive crowd, and a fantastic time!

what kind of deadlifter were you wearing?

It's a single ply Titan Velocity suit.
