Video of Andrey Kisel's WPC Raw Worlds

Nick Zhukov has uploaded video of Ukrainian Andrey Kisel (220) competing on Saturday at the inaugural WPC Raw Powerlifting World Championships in Rostov on Don, Russia. Kisel posted a 1,906 pound (865kg) total to place second at 220 to overall winner Andrey Belyeav. Kisel finished fourth overall.

The total also earned him the fourteenth ranking in the world on the Powerlifting Watch Power Rankings.

Kisel was actually ahead of Belyaev by 33 pounds (15kg) at the subtotal, due to a 727 pound (330kg) squat and 518 pound (235kg) bench press.
However, his 661 pound (300kg) deadlift was not enough to counter Belyaev's 815 pounds (370kg). Kisel did miss a 529 pound (240kg) bench press and deadlifts of 694 pounds (315kg) and 716 pounds (325kg).

What a screw job on the benches. So what if he came up a little uneven, he locked them out at the same time. I think some of the rules due to performance, raw lifts in particular, should be a bit more lax. He isnt using his gear as a crutch. Judging like that confuses the audience also. Was the weight lifted but did he do something to aid the lift(slide it up the rack/hitch-whatever depending on the discipline)? No? Then the lift should be good.

Unreal lifting, totally amazing at that contest.

Another great lifter. Legit lifts, and even though the calls may be controversial, at least we can't say the judges were lax or giving gifts in this case. How nice must this meet have been to lift in without all the equipment to worry about? How nice must this meet have been to watch, knowing what the lifters were actually good for?

that is single handidly the most outrageous post i have ever seen on PLwatch. Rules are rules across the board. they should tighten up the rules in equipped lifting instead of making them more lax in raw.

wait a second... so there's more than just one russian stronger than all the multiply guys and this ones been hiding in the ipf all these years too? hope there aren't any more.

Yeah, watch his knees and see how they rebend? Hitching/riding the thighs. Damn strong lifts, that's for sure.

He is actually bodybuilder from Ukraine.

If I were a judge, I might have given him white lights on some lifts that were turned down. But I'd rather see strict judging and good lifts than lifts that make you think the judges need a refresher course on "parallel."

That is one jacked, strong man, hitching/uneven extension or not.

like in multiply feds :p

Now that's powerlifting the way it should be. Not that it is raw but the way the lifts are done with respect to the rules. No bullshit half squats or benches with a board shoved up their shirts. The joke ass feds ought to take note of this.

100% agree. What a great performance in powerlifting. That is the way the sport originated with squats being below parallel, benches started, paused, and racked with the rules enforced, and the same goes for the deadlift.
I am so glad to see a video like this posted up.

I might take a look into competing in this federation, even though I am behind those Russians by far...
