How can you people even vote for Frankl. His lifts were terrible. High squats and unlocked benches. Lifts like Frankl's are ruining the multi-ply meets credibility.

How can Jon leave shitty ass posts like this one that directly slam specific lifters by anonymous sources, on his site?

Answer me that, then I'll tell you why I voted for him.

I voted for Frankl too.

If it was a personal slam of Frankl, it would be deleted. However, it was a criticism of the judging of his lifts.

I want to vote for Dave Hoff's shirt. Definitely the story of the meet!!!

I agree. LOL! The shirt now has at least 2 votes.

It was not a slam on Frankl. We all know Frankl is very strong. But we know high squats and pressing the weight close to lock out adds more weigth to ones total. Sorry to offend you but the truth is the judging was terrible. I know meets are long and judges will miss some calls but there was way to many missed calls in this meet.

i have to go with vogelpohls last deadlift, the guy hadn't been able to deadlift in 11 months due to rib injuries. warmed up sumo but his adductors were apparently torn from his squat so he took one conventional warm up before the platform and proceeded to pull the highest deadlift of the meet at 820. just another chapter to his legend.

small is a state of mind - Derek Wilcox

To my eye, Frankl's squats were no higher than many of the other passed squats. Would these lifts pass in the IPF? Probably not. However, his execution was on par with most multi-ply all time records. I have definitely seen higher squats passed. A competitor does what it takes to win, and he satisfied the judges at the contest and won the cash. You have the right to criticize the judging, but I can't understand calling his lifts "terrible." I am in the top 10 on one of the powerliftingwatch 198 pound rankings lists and I could not unrack Frankl's squats. He is a machine and arguably the greatest multi-ply lifter ever now. I voted for Frankl's total. The judging was consistent with typical multi-ply standards. I do not lift multi-ply because dealing with that advanced equipment is not fun to me, but I am in awe of guys like Frankl.

If I have to vote for one it would be the deadlift.
