Congrats jake!

Paul Key

his lift???

its funny how can you defeat MIKE WOMACK when he was not even there.so you can not get credit for that.

Great Job to Jake, but Matt Minuth got ripped off on his second and third attempts. Those were good lifts. Jake's a great lifter though. It would be nice to see him in some other venues outside the UPA though just to see how he stacks up against the other big names; especially when the judges aren't from Iowa.

Jake is a top notch bencher! I agree that it would be cool to see him lift at a WPC or IPA meet though. As for me, I was happy with 833. I was pretty sure that my second attempt (848) was a good one, but I definitly felt my ass come up on the third attempt. Oh well! Always next time. -Matt Minuth

What does the judges from Iowa have to do with Jake's lifts? Jake lives about 3 hours away from Dubuque and has his own team. Are you saying since Jake is from Iowa my judges are going to cheat for him because Matt is from Illinois? LOL! Come on, you people crack me up.

The judges call it how they see it. There was no favoritism. I was actually cheering for both Matt and Jake because it was cool to watch how close they were in formula. I was pumped with Matt got his second lift only to see two reds come up. There was absolutely no favortism and the judges could care less who is from where.

Jake would lift big at any meet. Lifting in a APF/WPC meet and a IPA meet would mean nothing more then what he just did last night on a big stage against some of the top lifters. Great lifting and leave it at that.

I just watched your second attempt. Your right arm is clearly not locked. I will post the video in a little bit. Great lifting Matt! You are one strong bencher.

Thanks Clint! I Got married, took a month off, and figured I'd bench better if I didn't cut any weight. Pretty sure it worked because it was a nice P.R. for me! Not quite sure if I'm gonna keep being a fat guy or drop back to 220 though. Having a nice venue to lift in is always motivating too. Bill always puts on high quality meets. Take it easy!
