Almost 170 lifters competed from Hungary, Slovakia, Germany, Belarus, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Finland, Poland, Austria, Japan, Sweden, Lithuania, France, Latvia, Estonia, South Africa, Switzerland, and Norway.

This meet is a bad idea. I can see it going under within a few years. There just aren't enough juniors who are bench-only lifters to make it work. There has been no talk of this among the Americans at all.

How is a meet with 170 lifters a bad idea, just because the US sends no lifters?

As soon as this meet doesn't take place in Europe, the numbers will fall greatly.

Based on what evidence? World meets in both the US,Asia, and Oceana are always heavily attended. Besides, there are 25+ active national federations in Europe. The event could stay there indefinately.

First hand reports states that shirts that been altered (ie even shirts that has been tightened following the original seam - as stated in the rules) are not allowed.

Lifters are forced to buy new shirts at place, and use them as they are.

The ipf is digging its own grave.

The officials are doing it (tech commite, refs etc). On the lifting side IPF is well alive and kickin!

Im an ipf lifter myself but this is the 3rd major rule change/interpretation in the bench press in 3 yrs. The others being head lift/foot position, arch/belly bench and now this.

The IPF should call this the European Sub-junior/Junior Bench Press Championships.

Please send me the informations you received at Onim123@gmx.at . Thanks man.

I heard the IPF are requiring the lifters to wear clown shoes, even though the rules state they can wear other shoes.
The lifters are forced to buy these new shoes and use them as they are, and the guy who sells them is the IPF president..

really, I have evidence

I was lifting at the Worlds and I can tell you that this was a great competition and that there were not only lifters from Europe but me as a South Africa and there was lifters from Japan who were really great!

This was a great idea to get the Juniors and sub-Juniors at a Worlds competition to get young lifters to get more involved in Powerlifting.

If anybody have to say something about the competition you just had to be there to see the lifting and the spirit beteween the lifters from different nations.

does anyone know if the USA will send juniors from this competition next year I would love to compete in it
