Is that Dick Vitale at the start of that video? Thank God he's not employed by CBS, otherwise we'd have to listen to his bullshit during the tournament

Man that is awsome I am real impressed and at 198 great job. That must rank way up there for the all time pulls as well. Very nice one of the best pulls I have seen on here great job. Ken Ufford

Looks like the new Titan Velocity deadlift suit. It has a high chest plate to keep you more erect and a low back and thicker straps. I think Ryan Celli was wearing one when he pulled that 700+ recently.

It is not.

Its a loose Titan Boss I borrowed from Larry Hook. To much weight loss over last year...need to buy some gear that fits.

Hardcore Powerlifting and House of Pain were very happy to sponsor this contest.

As always, there were some really nice people in attendance, Chris did a great job putting the production together, Nelson's Nautilus Annex is a super venue for a state meet and seeing two 800+ deadlifts in one day was the topping on the cake.

Thats my goal. To build a solid powerlifting culture here in Oregon and the Northwest again. We have several other big lifters waiting in the wings :)

Where the hell in the Portland area does everyone train at?

My crew trains at the 24 Hour Fitness in the Pearl District.

They've got a deadlift platform and 2 Ivanko bars and they allow chalk to be used on the platform and in either of the 2 power racks. (We carry chalk bags with us and we also use the new Chalk Balls that House Of Pain's selling so we don't get any excess chalk dust on their gym floor and we wipe the bars down when we're done training for the day.)

We're also allowed to bring in our chains, bands and boards and they've never given us any grief.

One of the sales managers is a retired USPF and ADFPA competitor, 2 of the personal trainers are USAPL lifters and a third personal trainer competes in submission grappling and Olympic lifting.

Hey beetle prick ! Is it Jay Ee, Jai Ea, Jae Eey or numbnuts ? Just checking, because last I checked, the letters JE were initials. I could be wrong, your chosen troll name could actually be spelled JE. Pronounced "Gee" I'm a spooge bag.

If you're gonna critique someone, especially, negatively, have the nads to post with something believable.

The dude pulled a weight bigger than your total and you bitch like you're dragging cotton again this month.

Peace

That is awesome lifting.

you cannot forget ed coan's 859. easy too.

In other feds some would call that no lift. Is He locked out doesn't look like it. He did move the weight though so that is a plus.

JE is Jamie Emberly.

Awesome, awesome lift and great technique.

I strongly disagree with those who say this was not locked out. He is standing erect with shoulders as they would be in a normal standing position. I know a lot of judges like to see the lifter in a hyperextended position with the shoulders well behind the hips. This is terrible for the spine--I am 100% convinced that this promotes the progression of disk degeneration and facet joint arthritis.

Thanks.

I thought you had to push your hips through at the top? Have they changed the rules? They didn't look locked out to me. Hmmmm, close but no cigar. Nice effort though.

Damn nice lifting Chris. Thanks for letting us train at your place. Congrats, I expect big numbers from here on out!

lift was passed. bottom line .... it counts. the end ., the judges gave him a quick down signal. no need to hyper extend and hold it for an additional 5 seconds. the lift was locked out

You do not have to lean backwards to "complete" a deadlift. The goal is to stand upright. The technical rules say "On completion of the lift the knees shall be locked in a straight position and the shoulders back." Shoulders back not lean back. If you keep leaning back after standing upright the head judge will let you keep going until you come to a stop before giving you a down signal. I have never pulled past where he is in this video and have never gotten a single red light for it in USAPL, APF, NASA, THSPA. Learn the rules before discrediting someones acheivments.

My place. Massive Competition front opening monolift. Competition sticky pad bench with self spots plus 2 other benches that can be ran. Squat rack with monolift attachment. Mastadon bar, Texas Squat Bar, Texas Power Bar, Okie bar, Safety Squat Bar, ect. Glute-Ham raise, Reverse Hyper, Low/high pulley, leg press, bands, boards. DB's to 150lbs, 1200lbs in calibrated plates with 3000lbs total, 300lbs in chain. 4 large tires and 2 sleds....i'm sure i forgot a lot of stuff but you get the idea...the place is stacked and there is nothing on the market even close to the Monolift or Bench.

Chris is absolutely correct. The IPF/USAPL at their rules briefing will warn against leaning backwards at the end of the deadlift as this will cause the knees to un-lock thus violating the technical rule of the dead lift (standing erect with knees locked). Chris pulled a huge weight and with correct form.

Chris, nice job and thanks for putting on a great powerlifting meet.
