Damn he's strong, but his lockouts always look so short. Does anybody else here agree with me when I say that has a bad habit of not locking it out all the way?

How do you figure he's not locking his benches out?

No worries Trav, I have gotten this now and again since I have been powerlifting. My arms do not appear to straighten all the way out. This has been the same for me since I competed at 220's. I wish I had that exagerated hyper extension of the elbows like some lifters have.

All I can say in my defense is that all my finished benches look the same regardless of whether the weight is 135 or 800+. Another great way to tell if a lifter is really locked is when he or she gets the weight pulled back into the rack. When the weight is taken and the lifter's hands are still gripping the bar you can see the arms extend further.

This is why I always try and pick easy openers so judges can see my lock and control. They have made me hold weight at the top a few times to make sure. That's why Rhodes has me hold weight for a while before racking it.

Thanks guys. Hey, be nice to Rhodes. Matt's an excellent lifter, but even more than that he gives great liftoffs. I don't know many guys that can give a one man liftoff with 1000lbs.
