Joe Mazza Bench DVD

Due to the number of e-mails that I receive asking how I train and wear my bench shirt, I recently shot two DVD's with the help of my training partner and sponsors. In the videos, we go into detail explaining the training system that I follow and how I wear my bench shirt. We also taped a few of my actual workouts. The first link will provide you with the info on how to obtain the DVD's and the second link will take you to my training log.

DVD's.

Thanks,

Good stuff! You are a good guy and a great lifter. I hope everyone buys your DVD.

Is Ken Anderson in the second video?

Roger:
Ken is not in the video. I was told by Joe that
Ken wanted a video showing how Joe wears his shirt, so I guess you could say the video was done for Ken. Not sure what his plans are for the video.
Anon: in the same video Joe is shown wearing the BOSS shirt. We haven't been able to get that shirt dialed in quite yet. Joe is in a F6 right now. He did 585 x 10 today, Joe is still making gains in the F6, no real reason to go into a BOSS shirt right now.

I will have to buy one of these for sure.
I'm glad to see others putting out DVDs. Hopefully you can make a few bucks as well.

what i want to know is , when DV will come out..

''Joe Mazzas Secrets to Beautiful Hair""

joe is the best lightweight bencher out there.
hes a hell of a guy too. alot can be learned from him.

In the training log, what does "rev bench" mean?

reverse bench. on our max effort day, we first do reverse band bench, bands top down then we do max effort with doubled bands bottom up.
we go into detail on the DVD's explaining the band rotations that we follow and the different heights from which we hang the bands when doing our reverse band bench.

Is that 585 x 10 to the chest?! I notice you guys use the term "touch set"....Does that mean that the high rep set did not touch?

correct. when wearing a 'properly altered shirt' Joe rarely touches in training. as Joe progressed through the 10 reps he was able to get the bar closer to his chest. as Joe progresses through his training cycle, the bar weight will get heavier on his free weight day and he will get closer to touching, it's a progression or as we talk about on the DVD's, 'developing the strength necessary to lock out the weight that it takes to touch'.
Our 'touch sets' are designed to find out what it takes to touch and to develop the confidence to handle 'max plus weight'. Touch set is not a negative, these sets are also meant to develop the confidence to bring max weight down faster.
The only touch set that really counts is the one that is done on meet day, if you are wearing a shirt and are touching on week one of a 8-12 week training cycle, your shirt is too loose and you aren't getting the most out of it.
I know there is alot of discussion about raw vs. geared and wearing super tight gear, not interested in getting into that, but if you are going to invest $200 or more in a shirt you might as well get the most out of it. Joe is getting over 250 pounds out of his shirt in training, as is the rest of us 'average' guys who train here.
The DVD's go into detail on how Joe wears his shirt, alters them and how they should feel when properly altered. Keep in mind, these DVD's were shot in my basement where we train, it wasn't a hollywood production.
