Are these guys all confirmed?

Sponsored by APT Pro Gear and Monster Energy

I'm sure that it will be just like last year...198 and below-biggest weight lifted,$5,000 for first and nothing for second.Had a great time at the meet and hanging out in "LA" last year.Anyone who feels like boycotting the meet for whatever reason-feel free.Easy $$$ last year(ha ha ha).JK

seems like a good place to end the debating on benchers. Scot is on a roll. Ryan and gene are getting healthier. Easy moneyfor those that want to back up their smack talk. I see non entry from the top guys as cowardice for this meet. No one has benches recently and as far as I know everyone is healthy.

How is Scot on a roll? He bombs for YEARS and gets 3 benches in and suddenly he's on a roll? If he could put together several good meets I'd say he's on a roll or he put up a big raw bench he'd be on a roll, but 3 good benches doesn't make it a roll

Yeah, that's a quality viewpoint right there.

Always accuse your invited competitors of cowardice as a way to pressure them into showing up. LOL

Am I scot? Did I invite these people?

If the worst thing in the world is commenting on what you don't know. You trumped that by being ignorant and having woman hair.

What's your total?

Like chad aichs, frank, rychlak, Thompson, and others? You go for the big numbers, you get burned sometimes.

How does that take away from the records they set? 9/9 or 3/9. If you don't have the status quo being raised by somebody, then average is acceptable.

Btw, scot hit multiple benches this year. Reps contest and in 1000+ singles.

sceppe isnt 198 anymore, just for the record

LOL none of the above listed lifters went as long as Scot did on a bombout streak. In fact, I can't think of anyone who bombed out as long as Scot did. If he wants so badly to compete against those guys, why not go to a neutral meet? Why does it have to be in his backyard?

Either way, his past performances do not make him worth traveling for.

I did however think there was some talk of Ryan being there?

aichs has been well over a year. might be two. frank has been three years. thompson has had a LONG stretch since one of his totals was respected. how long has it been since rychlak has gotten an attempt over 900? How long was it between vlads 1250 squat and his previous total?

you have to realize that the people im mentioning are taking massive chances. record total chances everytime they step out on the platform. Andy is one of the few top flight supers that consistently hits totals, but lets face it. the way he lifts, he could walk away with a 2550, if he never hits a second. Maybe hes playing it smart,?, or maybe the other supers are just flat out bigger risk takers. scot hit at least a dozen benches earlier this year, and went 3/3 with 2 1000+ attempts at a meet recently. complaining about mendlebomb 12 months ago i couldnt straight face argue with you. but the opening attempts are lower than past meets, and guess what? hes hitting clean benches.

maybe im just a positive, aggressive lifter. i like watching guys that live on that edge of breaking bones and bombing out, or setting records. you arent going to see me not defend a guy who competes, competes at top levels, and competes to win it.

and just to make it crystal clear. im not even a scot fan. i dont know the guy. but i would defend any super that i mentioned earlier the same way because everytime any of those guys walk out, its a clinic on how to lift. and how to be successful late into your career when dozens of guys have fizled out around you.

On No Bull Radio a friend of Glen Russo's said that the 1st place prize was $10,000 cash.

On that radio show Kennelly said he'd be interested in shirt benching again for $10,000.

With the event just over 4 weeks away is there an official competitors list yet?

Since most of the invited benchers would be coming in from out of state I'm sure that they've already sent in their applications and made their travel plans since airfare goes way up when you book a flight 30 days or less in advance.

Who's officially signed up to bench out of that list of 28 invitees?

why wouldnt we trust the direct source for prize money? im not sure why we have to trust your opinion of what you heard somone else say on a radio show on the internet. look at the top of the page.

Didnt Glenn Russo accuse Ryan of using fake plates?

Which Glenn am i suppose to believe Katterle? The fake plates guy, or the prize money guy?

I know this kinda asshole would be in here. Even when he gets more lifts on the board, assholes like you gotta talk shit about him. Merry Mother f'n X-mas.

It is just an invite list folks. If you feel like you should be invited or think someone else should be invited, contact Scot or Shawna. Easy.

The reason it is good news, is because it would be great to see matchups like: Scot, Ryan, Big Gene, Luyando, Vick, Wong and Mark Bell compete against each other.

or Kellum, Frankl, Fry, Heck, Lamarque, Caminita, Bolt, Sceppe, McVicker, Me and Coker all on the same stage competing against each other.

We may have our favs. But, it would be cool to see the folks with the top numbers on the same stage. Will all of these show up? Probably not. But, it would be nice to watch and compete in. If people would show up, even just to watch people would see how fun the venue and how cool these cats are in person.

Merry X-mas, guys.

I know Ryan and he wouldnt use fake plates. That sounds like bullsh^t.

Gonna side with Priest here. I was reading the thread and thinking its a damn shame that a simple post to announce a good meet with some decent prize money quickly turned into a personality bashing fest. And not even by the guys on the invitation list!! Ryan, Scott and the rest are all big boys (in more ways than one) and don't need a lot of anonymous posters taking up for them...or worse making attacks on their behalf. My opinion is that with guys like that, if they have something to say they're not afraid to say it themselves.

Now back to the original post.

Sounds like a great meet with the potential for some hellacious benching. Gonna sure try and be there to watch myself.

Good lifting to all,
Robert Harris
Las Vegas, NV

Ps: Priest, tell all the group down there that Dan Martin got full medical release last week and will be back to full-on training right away.

Good luck Scot with the meet. For the sport in general I hope there is a huge turnout. $10K is nothing to take lightly in this sport....
