I was put on a temporary assignment to the Phoenix, AZ area about 6 months ago and turned to Powerlifting Watch to try and find a power-friendly gym in the area. One of the links took me to Strengthworks Gym over in Tempe.

First thing through the door you see a couple of power racks draped in bands and chains, chalk buckets out, and plenty of old fashioned iron. I knew I'd found a home away from home.

Chris, Ceasar, King (the gym mascot), and the whole gang have been great. Anyone in the area, or if you need a place to work on when in Phoenix, check these guys out. It'll be worth the trip.

Nice gym and great equipment, but the lifters are 99% APF lifters who will wear anything and take anything to get the big lift. They allow double denim and etc. These people take away from what TRUE powerlifting is = RAW AND UNEQUIPPED!
